Zipp Vulka Clip Bars

Zipp’s Vuka Clips are a beautifully built and very aerodynamic set of extensions, but they’re not light or cheap. You’d expect Zipp to sweat the details and they have. To keep airflow clean the extensions plug into collars which then screw back to secure them. The bar clamp is also half recessed into the bar to hide as much from the wind as possible. The carbon armrests bolt onto flat wings with three sideways positions in each piece for accurate width tuning. A selection of spacers are then provided to alter pad height and they feel supportive and secure however long you’re tucked into them. You can choose from three different shapes: straight (here), Ski or chicane  (£109.99) plus the Vukashift with built-in mounts for SRAM’s R2C shifters (£174.99) and the whole set-up fits together beautifully. Despite carbon extensions and arm pads the overall weight of 524g is very high considering the premium price though.

Verdict
Beautifully put together, low drag bars but heavy on the bike and wallet.

Performance 3/5
Value 2/5
Overall 3/5
