Chilli Damp Dash Winter Aquathlon Race 5 Results

Icy conditions didn’t deter hard-core racers from blasting through the latest Hot Chilli Tri event.

Despite close to sub zero temperatures there were some solid performances again at the Hot Chilli Triathlon Club, Chilli Damp Dash Aquathlon Series – Race 5 in Trowbridge. Many congratulations to all of you who braved the coldest race yet this year at least things are hotting up for the series titles which look as though they will be determined in the final event of the series, Race 6 on Sunday March 11th.

In the Enduro race Hot Chilli’s own Kevin Govers continued his preparations for the UK 70.3 event this year winning the men’s race and overall first place in a time of 1:06:43. Kevin was pushed all the way by Abingdon athlete Ellie Crockford who had just over a minutes lead after the swim and who finished as first female and second overall in a time of 1:06:58.

In the sprint race, Alistair Dove continued to progress his race times and overall series performance to finish first place male and overall in a time of 32:02. Sarah Mead guesting for Hot Chilli came home in 35:03 to secure first placed female and take a clear lead in the Female Sprint category.

In the Tri Star Junior events, local Trowbridge Swimming Club sisters dominated with Ruby Galpin taking on the boys in the Tri Start and finishing only two seconds behind Ben Alexander in second place in a time of 4:48. Whilst sister Olivia finished first in her first Tri Star 1 event in a time of 9:14

The final event of the series should be a cracker with all the series titles still up for grabs!.
