Altura Transformer Jacket Review
We review this Altura Women’s Transformer Jacket.
Altura Women’s Transformer Jacket
This women’s-specific riding layer is cleverly designed for three-season use, converting from a jacket to a short-sleeve jersey as you remove the arms and back band. The windproof front panels stay put for both set-ups, so you get some weather protection without overheating.
As you’d expect from a trusted brand like Altura, quality is good throughout. Sizing is spot on, the cycling specific fit is comfortable, and breathability and wind-proofing keep you at the right temperature. However, we did find that the sleeves were tricky to unzip and remove quickly, and the windproof material on the front doesn’t sit that well against bare skin. The Transformer has three rear pockets, one zipped, that don’t sag in the same way as some jersey pouches. The reflective details are handy when it comes to wearing the full jacket on darker days.
Well styled, and versatility adds value for money, but the sleeves are tricky to remove.
