New Balance M1260 V2 Running Shoe Review
We review these superb new trainers from New Balance.
New Balance M1260 V2
New Balance’s flagship support shoe has received an update, conveniently named the ‘V2’. Aimed at the high-end runner looking for a lightweight shoe that provides great control and comfort, it rivals Asics’ Kayano 19 for included technology to keep your ride smooth and stable.
With an updated ‘T-beam’ midfoot shank for added stability and ‘Stabilicore’ technology that reduces weight whilst providing the same support for overpronators as earlier generations, New Balance have really taken time to improve the shoes in multiple areas. The headline technology is the new ‘N2’ cushioning, which lowers the sole profile while giving superior cushioning levels.
In the real world, you can really feel the difference that this ‘N2’ technology makes. Lowering the profile of the shoe puts you closer to the tactile contact of a barefoot shoe without losing confidence in the support around your foot, although the sensation of running so close to the ground does take some getting used to. The UK size 11 weighs in at 361g, which is on the money for a shoe of this type, and it’s pricing at £119 is £20 cheaper than the Asics Gel Kayano 19, representing relatively good value for money.
Good support with a low profile, smooth ride, great comfort.
