Sealskinz Leather Road Cycle Gloves Review
Read our verdict on these winter bike gloves in our Sealskinz Leather Road Cycle Gloves review.
Sealskinz Leather Road Cycle Gloves
Sealskinz, as a brand, is synonymous with total waterproofing. Previous versions of their gloves have proved to be highly weatherproof but not exactly great to wear on the bike. The new Road glove looks like it should address this and, with its slimmer cuff and a textured Pittard’s leather palm, the fit is by far the best we’ve seen from Sealskinz.
The backs of the glove have a full membrane so are impervious to water but the sides of the fingers and seams around the palm don’t, so when it starts to pour, the rain soaks in at these points. And with so much waterproofing on the gloves’ main panels, the water has almost nowhere to escape.
On the plus side, the warm lining means that your hands don’t get too cold, even when they’re wet, and the new textured palm is grippy and tactile to use. In all, the new road glove is an improvement, but could certainly be better.
Comfortable and well made, but not fully waterproof.
