We liked these inner tubes from Vittoria so much that we gave them an award. What’s so great about them?
Latex inner tubes, which are common in racing tubulars, can lose as much 10-20PSI when left in transition overnight, but Vittoria have used a super-thin butyl inner tube to solve the pressure-loss problem. Once glued in place, the Corsa feels pleasingly supple, smoothing out rough roads just as well as most of the latex-tubed competition.
Vittoria increase the surface roughness at each edge of the tread to give extra cornering grip, while the smooth centre section reduces rolling resistance. The Corsa rolls fast, although small cuts quickly accumulate on rough roads so keep these for your best wheels. On wet or dry roads the soft compound tread and supple casing combine to give assured grip for fast cornering. For the smooth ride, sure-footed cornering and reduced hassle of transition the small reduction in durability isn’t a large price to pay, nor is £59.99.
Fast and grippy tubs, which help reduce race day hassle.
