Boardman Bikes launch four new models with Di2 specific frames based on the Elite Series AiR & SLR platforms.

The AiR (Aerodynamic Racing) platform is further bolstered by the new AiR/9.2S and AiR/9.0S models with the SLR (Superlight Racing) platform increased with the addition
of the SLR/9.2S and SLR/9.0S.

Electronic shifting has always been part of the Boardman DNA – as a pro-rider Chris championed and competed at the highest level with some of the very first electric gears probably more than any pro-rider at that time – and it has always been a brand ambition to incorporate the performance benefits of electronic gearing into the Elite range.

“I’ve always been able to see the value of getting precise, predictable gear changes even when under stress on a mountain or sprinting out of a corner. Having used electronic gears for 8 years as a pro-rider, I have always appreciated the benefit – so much so, I have always wanted to incorporate the principle into the range. Thankfully, technology has now advanced and with Shimano releasing the Ultegra level option – we are able to satisfy our customers increasing demand for this product. The four new Elite Series models are the result of this – with additional models already in the pipeline.”

Chris Boardman R&D Director

All frames have been specifically designed for Di2 with full internal cable routing and battery mounting point. As well as being fully Di2 compatible, each Elite frame is complimented with an impressive specification – including full carbon monocoque construction, frame tube profiles and lay up, designed using cutting edge FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to create a series of frames that are superlight, strong, have excellent power transfer and responsiveness, with great handling under all race conditions. The AiR platform provides a frame that offers true real world aerodynamic advantage and in the SLR, a frame that has a raw frame weight of less than 900g – all offering a truly competitive and impressive package in more ways than one.

Available across the world – in the UK through our network of Elite Series authorised IBD’s and worldwide through our existing distribution channels.

Available to pre-order now, for mid Oct delivery.
