Campagnolo Launch New TT And Triathlon Range
Italian bike giants Campagnolo have launched a new range of triathlon and time trial components for the upcoming race season.
Designed and created at the Campy Tech Lab, the range includes new bar-end gear shifters, cranksets and brake levers which can all be used with 10 or 11 speed Campagnolo systems.
The bar end shifters were first to catch our attention, featuring a new “Back to Zero” mechanism that keeps them in the optimal position for improving airflow, in a similar way to the R2C system released by their rivals SRAM last year. Campagnolo claim their system requires less pressure to change gear and offers easy maintenance thanks to a micro-indexing control and special cable routing. They come in either carbon (155g) or aluminium (167g) versions.
A new TT crankset will please the strong-legged among you, as it offers extra large chainrings for higher gearing, whilst maintaining the same stiffness and power transfer that smaller rings offer. They also feature a new Extreme Performance Shifting System which is designed to give accurate and fast shifting under heavy loads thanks to eight up-shifting and two down-shifting zones on the chainrings and especially designed teeth. They come in two size options, either 42/54 or 42/55.
Campag have also added new TT brake levers to the range. Made with comfort and aerodynamics in mind they weigh in at just 85g for carbon, or 106g for the aluminium version. We’ve not been given prices for this new TT and Triathlon range yet, but we’ll keep this post updated.
