A new series of aquathlons have been added to the Surrey multi sport race calendar.
The National Trust have kindly provided permission for the first official swim events to take place along a section of the river Wey, a tranquil waterway running for 20 miles through the heart of Surrey. Participants will enjoy an open water swim in the river before running in Shalford Park. Race entry includes chip timing and the chance to win some great prizes! There will also be a fun children’s run.
Free open water swim training sessions are on offer prior to the event, thanks to Triathlon England. These sessions offer swimmers the opportunity to get used to the water and pick up some hints and tips prior to race day!
Novice training days – 4th June 7:30-‐9pm; 21st July 8:30-‐10am.
Sarah Crawcour, Visitor Services Manager for the River Wey Navigations said: “As part of our ambition to enable people to make the most of National Trust resources in new ways, we are proud to announce the first official mass participation swims in this beautiful stretch of the river Wey. We hope everyone has a fantastic day.”
