Keep yourself motivated this winter by entering the Lanzarote marathon in December.
On the 8th of December 2013, the 3rd edition of the Lanzarote International Marathon will take place, in Costa Teguise – Lanzarote. The race offers three distances (10km, half and full marathon) as well as a competitive wheelchair race. The prices are very reasonable, with the full distance race costing just €40 (£33.80). In 2012, pro Ironman triathletes Stephen and Bella Bayliss took the wins in the marathon, and both will be returning to the start line this December attempting to retain their titles.
Lanzarote is known to offer the most consistent good weather of the seven Canary Islands and, even in December, sun stricken Lanzarote will continue to boast sunny skies and warm temperatures. The race takes athletes along the coast, with a neutral profile, road surfaces and staggering views. The athletes start at the host venue Sands Beach Resort in Costa Teguise, run along the coastline through Arriciefe, Playa Honda and turn just before reaching the beachfront town Puerto Del Carmen.
