Sundried, premium ethical activewear have organised the first ever Southend-on-Sea Triathlon, supporting Havens Hospices.
The eagerly anticipated event will be held on the 28th of May which will see 300 competitors brave a swim in the Thames Estuary, enjoy a scenic cycle through the country lanes of Barling and Great Wakering, and then knuckle down for a flat, fast run along the picturesque seafront.
This will be the first time the sport of triathlon comes to the already very sporty town of Southend and is sure to attract a lot of spectators and supporters. The winner will be awarded the Freddie Spring Memorial Trophy provided by his wife, Freddy was a keen triathlete who passed away 4 years ago.
Triathlon Plus Magazine will feature a race report in their next issue.
