Carrera’s Radius aero-road helmet tested, rated and reviewed
This Svelte new helmet from Carrera was designed in the wind tunnel to maximise aerodynamics while still offering generous cooling from the internal airflow paths. The Radius weighs a respectable 264g and isn’t going to hold you back on climbs while neck-ache was at a minimum even after hours in an aero tuck.
The straps have mesh channels for breathability while the ‘flex control system’ cradle, which has two pivot points for custom-fitting, and an easy to use ratchet dial for on-the-move adjustment, meant comfortable pinch-free security.
It’s also a great choice for ponytails, offering plenty of room and minimum faff in transition. The Alu-Tech Frame reduces the helmet’s volume, making it look compact rather than mushroom-like and the interior lining is also washable to avoid it becoming a stinker.
