We put the women’s-specific Ceepo Grace tri bike through its paces in our First Ride review

Triathlon Gear Reviews: Ceepo Grace Tri Bike

  • First Ride

Ceepo have added a women’s tri bike to their range. The Grace has a striking flowery pink design, plus ‘Iron Girl’ emblazoned across the chainstay, leaving no doubt as to its target audience. Profile Design arm rests were sensitive to the torque used to clamp them on to the extensions – with a lower than maximum torque setting they sagged alarmingly.

  • Fast Ride

The frameset features some beautifully sculpted aero features including the (UCI illegal) tear drop shaped seat and down tubes, and wide, straight-bladed forks. Out on the road it felt fast, quickly accelerating. In calm conditions, the bike was stable and predictable, and the extra confidence this inspires made it fun accelerating out of corners and going all out on the flat.

  • Hill Ride

The Profile Design carbon-fibre extensions are long for the shorter arms of women, as set up at the minimum distance between the arm rests and bar end shifters, it was still a stretch to change gear. This is compounded by small hands and was more prevalent on hilly terrain. On long descents and ascents with moderate gradients the bike handled well, urging us to up the tempo.

  • Long Ride

The long ride was where this bike was in its element. The stability of the Grace really shone through as the miles racked up; even when we physically began to tire our trust in the Grace on corners and descents was unaffected – making it easier to stay aero for longer. The full carbon frame, forks and seatpost, with thickly padded arm rests absorbed much of the road buzz, softened the ride.

  • Verdict

This women’s-specific tri bike is both fast and stable, but it’s really in its element when racking up the miles.
