Clif Shot Electrolyte Drink
Everyday it seems another new sports drink arrives at the Triathlon Plus offices. This month’s pick of the bunch is Electrolyte Shot from Clif. Just mix a few scoops of powder into a bike bottle of water, give it a shake, and seconds later you have 40g of carbohydrate in an easy-to-absorb drink. The thing that differentiates it from its competitors is that it’s 92% organic, without as many artificial sweeteners as some other drinks. The organic ingredients also help to make it more palatable. It’s not as sweet as some we’ve tried, but it has a pleasant, natural taste. We used it on several long rides, swim sessions and a race, and it always quenched our thirst.
