Nike’s Lunarlon midsole tech continues to win runners over with its soft, but not mushy, cushioning.
The new, marginally lighter (260g) Lunarglide +5, uses a similar seamless mesh upper and a new smoother lining for zero rub – even with wet sockless feet. The shoes use an external plastic heel truss to counter heel strike deformation and Flywire inserts also help retain upper integrity.
The heel plastic is a new shape to the previous model, being taller with less wrap. The new height is welcome, retaining heel fit better after many pulls.
The outsole is unchanged with the fast-wearing Lunarlon material aided by harder carbon rubber in the heel and a small button under the big toe for added durability.
