Swimovate Poolmate Live
Since launch, the Poolmate’s lap-counting watch design has been joined by a number of rivals. Helping it fight off this competition is this newest version, which is a response to user requests.
So, you get a bigger display, a battery you can change yourself, a vibrating alarm and optional download clip (an extra £30). The alarm is the biggest bonus for us, though it took a while to figure out how to set it up (you have the option to let it buzz by number of laps, distance, or time; we couldn’t work out which we’d set it to for a while).
It buzzes just before the end of your final lap or, if using time, at the chosen interval. The bumped up size wasn’t such a plus for us; with other swim watches being on the bulky side the original Poolmate’s slim size suited us fine. Even with the download clip, its price is competitive.
