We test out the T Mat Pro Transition Mat to see if it keeps things neat and tidy ready for T1…
The T Mat Pro Triathlon Transition Mat is a neoprene mat that unrolls flat and stays flat. It’s available in a range of bright and neon colours to help you find your transition spot amongst a thousand others – if you’re lucky enough to come out of the water with a transition area still full of bikes that is!
The mat is comfortable on bare feet and is ideal for keeping your transition station tidy. At 72 x 52cm, fully unfolded, I found it a little wide for the space typically allocated by race organisers – but this might be an excuse to spread out a bit.
One of the main benefits is that it won’t bunch up like a towel or have a corner blow over, covering your sunglasses and invariably resulting in you stepping on them as you clumsily try to remove a wetsuit whilst still a bit dizzy from a freezing swim.
It’s lightweight and packs down to a small roll with a handy Velcro strap to keep it neat in your transition bag or box.
