TYR Special Ops 2.0 open water goggles tested, rated and reviewed

TYR Special Ops 2.0 reviewTYR Special Ops 2.0

These patriotic goggles from TYR have smoked, polarised lenses that the company says cuts through 99.9 per cent of surface glare, making them an obvious choice for open-water swimming and triathlon.

Clarity is outstanding, the anti-fog treatment staying true throughout testing, while the wide field of vision makes sighting a breeze. Finding a good fit was an easy process too, with a regular double-band rear strap spreading pressure at the back.

Though there are no quick adjusters as seen on some of the competition, the frame is less chunky and the straps seem stretchier. The silicone gaskets were particularly comfortable, and have maintained their watertight seal after tens of kilometres while polarised lenses at this price signal excellent value.
