Aqua Sphere announces sponsorship of ITU long-course world champion Timothy O’donnell.

AquasphereAqua Sphere, the worldwide aquatic brand of choice for swim gear, is pleased to announce the signing of the reigning US Pro 70.3 Champion, and 6-time US Armed Forces Champion, Timothy O’Donnell. The US Naval Academy Graduate and Navy Veteran is coming off a strong season that included a coveted top-10 finish at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI, 2 overall event wins, including the Ironman 70.3 US-Pro Championship, and multiple podium finishes on the Ironman circuit.

Kicking off his new partnership with Aqua Sphere, O’Donnell will start his 2013 season at a familiar race, the Ironman 70.3 San Juan, where he previously claimed top honors as a 2-time winner of the event.  He will toe the line in 2013 wearing Aqua Sphere’s groundbreaking Phantom wetsuit, K180 goggles, and Energize Speedsuit in pursuit of another first out of the water accolade.

“I am beyond excited to join forces with the leading wetsuit and goggle provider in the industry.  Aqua Sphere’s range of high quality swim products made them the natural choice when considering my sponsors for this next season,” said Timothy O’Donnell “Their Phantom wetsuit is incredibly flexible with great core support and the K180s provide me with an excellent range of vision in a small package without sacrificing comfort. I’m honored to join the team and represent Aqua Sphere in the water.”

O’Donnell joins the Aqua Sphere roster of Ironman, Ironman 70.3, and ITU Long Course champions, including Faris Al Sultan, Terenzo Bozzone, Luke Mckenzie, Rachel Joyce, Heather Wurtele, and Annabel Luxford.  To match his incredible talent and potential O’Donnell enters 2013 with an impressive list of goals.  He aspires to earn slots on both podiums at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas, as well as the Ironman World Championships in October.  Podiums in Kona and Las Vegas would be a cherry on top of TO’s already decorated career which includes multiple 70.3 titles, and the 2009 ITU Long Course World Championship.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Timothy to the Aqua Sphere team,” said Aqua Sphere Triathlon Sponsorship Manager, Jake McLaughlin. “TO brings a champions pedigree to our carefully selected roster of athletes. His experience and talent makes him the perfect addition to elevate Aqua Sphere and solidify our brand as the premier swim gear choice of triathletes.” is the online home of Triathlon Plus – the best source of triathlon training advice, triathlon gear reviews and triathlon news.
