The British Triathlon Championships Liverpool will now take place over one spectacular day of racing on 13 July 2013.

British Triathlon Championships LiverpoolThe event had originally been planned to take place over two days, but organisers have now condensed and finalised a new schedule to enhance the overall experience.

Up to 2,000 participants and many more spectators are expected to attend the event, which takes place in and around the Liverpool docks area, including running past the Echo Arena and the iconic Royal Liver Building. The closing date for entries to the Standard Distance Race is Friday 28 June and places are still available on

All race starts will take place on Saturday 13 July. This will ensure that the Paratriathlon and Youth Super Sprint events run alongside the Age Group and Elite events giving these athletes an enhanced experience and greater support than would have been possible on the Sunday. Unfortunately this added value does come at the expense of the planned relay event.

The final schedule for Saturday 13 July is as follows:

  • Transition Check In 05:30 – 09:30
  • British Age Group Standard Distance 07:00 – 09:30
  • Paratriathlon (TRI 2 – 6) 11:00
  • Male Youth Super Sprint 12:15
  • Female Youth Super Sprint  12:20
  • Paratriathlon (TRI1) 12:45
Elite Female Sprint 14:10
  • Elite Male 15:40

It promises to be a fantastic spectacle of the sport in the city of Liverpool. The day will start with competition across all age groups and finish with the Paratriathlon and Elite National Championships.
