City workers given opportunity to ‘tri’ against banking rivals in a unique large-scale static ‘Pop-up’ triathlon


Nearly 100 city workers will be taking part sweating it out as they compete against banking rivals. Onlookers will enjoy their lunchtime sandwich whilst cheering on the 30 teams as they take part in the NEW and unique Pop-Up City Triathlon.

The teams will race for the optimum distance to be covered in a timed, staged, static triathlon hosted by triathlon commentator, Peter Jack. Times are plotted on the ‘Top-Gear style’ leaderboard with the winning team receiving a training session with professional Team GB triathletes and £1,000 for a charity of choice.


Teams of three from; KPMG, Barclays, Santander, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Citi Bank, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, NSPCC, Canary Wharf and many more.
Teams comprise of corporates and charities celebrating the World’s fastest growing sport in a new and unique format. All teams have donated entry fees to benefit partner charity, NSPCC.


Monday 23rd May 2016 between 11:00 and 19:00. Teams take to the stage to race every fifteen minutes.

Canary Wharf (Montgomery Square) will welcome a new and innovative Pop-up City Triathlon on Monday 23rd May helping city workers enjoy a spot of triathlon (the World’s fastest growing sport) on their office doorstep. The event will see key banks and corporates in London compete against their rivals but in lycra rather than the office suit!


The staged event will see 30 teams take part in a static triathlon competing for the best distance achieved over a given time (3 min swim in an Endless Pool, 4 minutes on a cycle ergometer and a 3 minute run on a treadmill). The teams are made up of three individuals, competing in one discipline each and representing the same company.

The winning team will receive a prize of £1,000 to be given to their charity of choice, a training session with Team BMC, the pro triathlon team sponsored by Speedo and a premium selection of tri products for each team members including a KitBrix and dryrobe.
