Now in its 7th year, Dengie Events have put together their schedule of Essex based triathlons and cycle rides for 2017.


The Big East Triathlon 21 May 2017

The Big East Triathlon takes place on 21st May 2017 in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex. It is a popular event and gives entrants a choice of Middle Distance or Challenge Distance and is open to individual athletes and relay teams. Set in an ideal location for triathlon and attracting competitors from all over the world, it is well suited to anyone aiming to get fit or in search of a new challenge.

Challenge Distance (Swim: 800m, Cycle: 43km, Run: 10km)

Middle Distance (Swim: 1.6km, Cycle: 82km, Run: 20km)


Tour of the Dengie – 21 May 2017

The Tour of the Dengie cycle rides take place alongside the Big East Triathlon on 21st May 2017 in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex. There are two distances to choose from; the Sportive or the Fun Ride. On the ride, you will pass through small towns and villages with traditional weatherboard homes, negotiate the Burnham Bends and experience a unique and varied course over the marshes.

Cycle Sportive: 82km


Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon – 02 July 2017

The Fambridge Yacht Haven Half Iron Triathlon takes place on 2nd July 2017 in North Fambridge, Essex. This welcoming and friendly middle distance event sees entrants take on a 1.9km river swim next to Blue House Farm Nature Reserve, 90km cycle in the peaceful Essex countryside and an 18km run around North Fambridge village.

Middle Distance / Half Iron (Swim: 1.9km, Cycle: 90km, Run: 18km)


The Maldon Triathlon – 30 July 2017

The Maldon Triathlon takes place on 30th July 2017 and race organisers, Dengie Events are expecting entries to fill fast. The beginner friendly Maldon Triathlon is based around the beautiful Promenade Park and Hythe Quay over the Sprint and Olympic distances. With plenty of facilities for the whole family, activities throughout the day and countless cafes lining the route the event always draws a large crowd of spectators and provides a great atmosphere for all.

Sprint Distance (Swim: 750m, Cycle: 28km, Run: 5km)

Olympic Distance (Swim: 1.5km, Cycle: 45km, Run: 10km)
