It’s back! Get out your diaries and immediately put a tick by the date Sunday 30 June 2019 for the 21st edition of the Garmin Triathlon in Paris. Over 4,000 participants, of all ages and all levels are expected at this now ‘must’ meeting of the season.

A sport in full expansion with a rise in members of nearly 10% per year (source F.F.TRI.), over recent years the triathlon has managed to win over a much wider public that extends beyond the serious competitors and appeals to athletes of all abilities. The Garmin Triathlon de Paris, a key event on the circuit, is keener than ever to support this development.

Among the new features for 2019, the Parc de la Villette will be the sole venue for gathering together and hosting the village, start, the transition phases and the finish. Located to the East of Paris, it is the capital’s largest urban cultural park. Spanning 55 hectares, 35 of which are outdoors, it blends nature and modern architecture, recreation areas and leisure spaces, making it the perfect venue for the Garmin Triathlon de Paris.

Another innovation: the implementation of a Sprint format race, with a programme featuring a 500m swim, 25km cycle ride and a 5km run. It’s a format that is widely accessible to all, making it a great opportunity for some to come and discover the delights of the triathlon. As has been the case in previous years, the more experienced, or the more foolhardy, will have the opportunity to tackle the traditional M format incorporating the Olympic distances, namely a 1,500m swim, 40km cycle ride and 10km run over a new course full of promise.

One thing for sure whatever the distance chosen is the assurance that participants will enjoy a thoroughly unique experience.
