Last chance to enter Ironman Wales before entry closes on Wednesday 5 June at midnight.

Ironman WalesIronman Wales has had record demand for entries this year, which will close this Wednesday 5 June at midnight.

Taking place on Sunday 8 September, Tenby in Pembrokeshire for the third successive year, Ironman Wales has seen its 1800 capacity sell out in record time, with entries of all ages and abilities from across the globe.

Whilst Ironman Wales is arguably one of the toughest on the European Tour, its sensational atmosphere and spectacular setting has also earned its reputation as one of the best too.

World leading Pro Ironman athlete, Andreas Raelert, recently commented: “I have heard so many good things about Ironman Wales. Everybody I know who has raced there says amazing things about this race.”

This 2.4 mile sea swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run, attracts athletes of all levels of ability with over 50 per cent competing in this ultimate endurance event for the first time.

Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of Ironman UK said: “It is fantastic to see such a large number of Welsh athletes taking part in the event, many of whom have been inspired to take part as a result of supporting friends and family and experiencing the electric atmosphere for themselves. For seasoned athletes still looking for a challenge don’t miss out on your last chance to enter.”

For those athletes hoping to qualify for the 2014 Ironman World Champioship, Ironman Wales is also a great opportunity to try and qualify early as it will enable you to focus on  preparing for it over 12 months.

2013 will also see the return of Ironkids Wales, which attracts some 400 children aged 4 to 15 taking part in a swim, run event on North Beach on Saturday 7 September.

Athletes can also combine their racing with making a significant contribution to official charities Scope or Macmillan Cancer Support. Both charities offer guaranteed entries with an initial £99 to pay along with a commitment to fundraise £1,000 for their great cause.
