A hesitant start for some in Fornells

In eerie morning light at 7:30am, the 300 starters get going in the beautiful clear waters at Fornells

Before the heat of the day builds, they’re through T1 and onto the bike

The rolling bike course had no long challenges, but with temperatures rising to the mid-20s it was still tough

Our very own Phil Mosley, in his second middle-distance race in as many weeks, powers towards a fourth-place finish

The crowds had come out to watch by the time athletes hit the run

This vicious little 11% climb had to be tackled three times

The top three men were all pretty local: 1. Clemente Alonso (4:05:43); 2. Marcel Zamora (4:07:24); 3. Patxi Vila (4:11:15). Phil was fourth in 4:24:35. In the women’s race, Alexandra Louison came first in 4:44:54; followed by Aline Choretier (5:20:31); and Cristina Prat (5:21:34).
