The Snowman Triathlon is already one of the UK’s toughest triathlons but the event organisers, Always Aim High Events have recently announced that they will be adding a brand new category for those crazy individuals who want to make it even harder!

This new category race, fittingly called the Snowman Savage, includes completing two triathlons over two days that have a combined distance of:

  • 1400m swim
  • 100km road cycle
  • 14km mountain run

Most impressively, the Savage totals to a staggering 9,000ft ascent over the two days!

The Snowman Triathlon will, for the first time, be split over a full weekend. The Snowman Storm (formally known as the Snowman Sprint) will be held on Sat 26th Sept 2015 while the Snowman Blizzard (formally known as the Snowman Full) will take place the next day on Sun 27th Sep. To complete the Snowman Savage you must race the Storm on Saturday and then complete the Blizzard the following day. Your time for the two events will be combined and the male and female with the lowest cumulative time will be crowned the Savage champions!

Entries are now open for this incredible new race so if you think you’re tough enough then sign up to the Snowman Savage here.

Always Aim High Events Director, Tim Lloyd, feels the Savage is the perfect addition to an already world class event:

“We are pleased to introduce the Snowman Savage to our lineup of Snowman races. We know that the Snowman is widely regarded as one of the toughest races in the UK and possibly even the world so the potential of having Snowman Savage on your triathlon C.V. is really going to spark the imaginations of the hardiest triathletes.

Not only will you get the respect from everyone who knows how tough the Snowman races are, but you will also get a discounted entry into each event and a unique, money can’t buy Snowman Savage T-shirt.  We will also be giving a prize for the fastest male and fastest female times in the Snowman Savage!

We would like to say thank you to Plas Y Brenin and Conwy County Council for their support in the organisation of this event.”

The Snowman Triathlon will take place at the world-renowned national mountain centre, Plas Y Brenin, on the weekend of 26/27th September 2015. The Snowman Blizzard, which takes place in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, features a:

  • 1000m lake swim
  • brutal 69km cycle
  • 9km mountain run up and down the unforgiving beast that is Moel Siabod – an ascent of 2,298ft

The Storm features much of the same course as the Blizzard but at a shorter distance of 400m/31km/5km.
