Triathlon legend Gómez Noya teams up with On and wins first race of the season

Five time ITU world title holder, Javier Gómez Noya, selects the Swiss Running Brand On and already starts strong with the new partnership winning Ironman 70.3 Dubai.

The exceptional talent from Spain came off the bike leg in 6th place, however overtook the rest of the field on the run to claim victory in a time of 3:42:20 hours – more than two minutes ahead of second place.

“It was a great race and great start to the 2017 season,” said Gómez Noya, straight after the win. “The shoes felt amazing – I’ve already fallen in love with them.”

Coming in third was Swiss runner Ruedi Wild –also sporting On shoes –followed closely by On athlete Tyler Butterfield finishing in fourth place

The race win in Dubai from Gómez Noya comes just a day after the new partnership with On was announced. “I have been very selective in choosing my next running shoe partner as I demand a lot from my shoes,” said the Olympic medallist and X-Terra games champion Gómez Noya. “On has become a force of innovation in running in an impressively short time. The company is run by former athletes. Top athletes I respect and many friends have teamed up with them as well.”

Gómez Noya is one of several other impressive athletes joining On in 2017, including Chris Thompson from the UK, and the entire Trek Segafredo team. He has already been warmly welcomed by Nicola Spirig, Tim Don and Frederik Van Lierde in a series of videos online that can be seen here.
