If you could swop one element of triathlon for something else, what would it be? If it’s swimming, this triathlon could be the perfect alternative to the tradition swim, bike, run formation…
Pick up your paddles, pump up your bicycle tyres and dust off your running shoes for The Inland Waterways Association’s (IWA) first Waterways Triathlon in Essex. The event will take place on Sunday 20th September 2015 at Hoe Mill Lock near Maldon, on the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
There is a choice of either a 50km or 30km course that will have you canoeing, cycling and running to the finish line. The entry fees and all sponsorship you raise will go towards Essex Waterways, who help to maintain and improve the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation, or The Susan Trust who is carrying out a historic Chelmer lighter boat restoration project.
A limited number of spaces are available for the Waterways 2015 Triathlon, so book early. Places cost £35 per person but we’re offering an early bird price of £25 if you book before 31st May. Teams of two and four and relay teams of three are welcome.
