Places at the XTERRA England Championship off-road triathlon are selling fast
The organisers of XTERRA England, the off-road championship triathlon race based within the stunning grounds of the Vachery Estate in Cranleigh, Surrey, have today announced that race places are selling fast, with the championship race already over half-way to capacity.
On 23 August, up to 1,000 age group off-road triathletes will join some of the world’s elite to tackle the 1.5km swim in the beautiful waters of the private Vachery Pond, before hitting the trails and singletrack of the Vachery Estate for a 2-lap mountain bike stage which will leave everyone smiling. Triathletes will then complete a testing 10km off-road run, which includes more than a few surprises for those taking part, with ditches, jumps and water obstacles forming part of the course.
The race is the English championships and is a qualifier for the XTERRA World Championships being held in October in Maui, Hawaii.
Triathletes are urged to enter sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment, with entries to the championships race expected to sell out before the end of March at the latest.
The weekend event has something for athletes of all abilities and beginners can join in this super off-road challenge competing in the XTERRA Sprint Triathlon (750m/15km/5km) or the Women’s Only Try-an-Xtri (400m/10km/3km).
Last year’s hugely successful BIG SWIM races in Vachery Pond, part of the national H2Open series make a return and swimmers can take on the 1.5km or 3km distances.
All entrants to the triathlons will receive a commemorative t-shirt and every finisher receives a medal and complimentary food and drink and More Than Massage physio post-race care. The event promises to offer something for everyone, with on-site camping within the Vachery Estate, an exhibitor’s area featuring the latest in triathlon gear and produce from local suppliers plus fun activities for all the family who will enjoy the great atmosphere and countryside whilst you race. Athletes and their families can enjoy a pasta-party in the evening before the race, which features live music and a pro question and answer session and even get fuelled up with our racers breakfast on race-day morning.
The Vachery Estate is located just outside the picturesque village of Cranleigh in the Surrey Hills, only minutes from London and the motorways, M25, M23 and M3.
