Michael Phelps has created a new brand in swimming called MP in partnership with coach Bob Bowman and swimming brand, Aqua Sphere. MP creates products which claim to meet the needs of committed swimmers.
The latest range of swimwear – available in UK swim shops now – includes a range of high impact Brazil-themed prints personally selected by Michael Phelps himself which are sure to brighten any lap session. Swimmers will experience the flexibility and freedom of movement of the suits which are available in womens one-pieces in a choice of open back or racing back, and mens briefs or jammers.
The fully lined collection is made in Aqua Infinity fabric, a technologically advanced breathable fabric which is chlorine-resistant, fast-drying and has UV50+ protection. The women’s line also has silicone expertly stitched into the straps for additional durability. SRPS are £39.99 for the womens racer back, £31.99 for the mens jammer and £29.99 for the mens brief.

We had the pleasure of testing the women’s one piece costume and despite being a little dubious about the colourful design, it is much more composed than it first appears. It is well fitted and comfortable in the water. The straps didn’t move which was a pleasant surprise considering how thin they are and through all strokes, the costume stayed where it should be! Under a wetsuit, the costume itself was great, but the straps did rub a little bit. Arguably, it’s designed for comfort in the pool rather than under a wetsuit during a typical Welsh summer! Needless to say, we haven’t put the UV50+ to the test!
Pros: Well fitting, comfortable and friction-free.
Cons: You won't be missed with this colourful design!
