This tough duathlon will take place on 2nd July 2017, stretching from Edinburgh to Fort William. Participants will ascend to the summit of Ben Nevis during the marathon-distance final leg.

City to Summit returns for the first time since 2014 on 2nd July 2017. Back by popular demand, City to Summit is an endurance challenge like no other. Starting with a picturesque road half marathon in the historic heart of Scotland’s capital city, the first leg will take in the sights of Auld Reekie before culminating in a crossing of the famous Forth (road) Bridge.

Transition one is located in North Queensferry, where participants will embark on a 180km road bike leg into the Highlands. The ride will take participants through stunning scenery, past mountains and around lochs, until they reach Kinlochleven. Here they will ditch the bike and transfer back to foot for the final marathon-distance off-road assault on Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest peak.

The finish line awaits in spectacular Fort William where a 20 hour time limit will be applied. City to Summit is no small undertaking and those who do reach the end will have achieved something truly remarkable, having traversed one of the most famous mountain landscapes on Earth. There are only 500 places available for the 2017 event.
