Registration for the Slateman Triathlon 2017 powered by Suunto opens today.
The Slateman Triathlon will return in 2017 bigger and better than ever before, featuring some of the cycle and run routes which make it one of the ‘must do’ triathlon events in the UK.
Taking place on the weekend of the 20th and 21st of May 2017, the Slateman takes place in Llanberis, North Wales.
The full distance triathlon, which takes place on the Sunday, features a 1000m swim in the historically rich Lake Padarn. This is followed by a 51 km cycle through the winding roads and stunning climbs of Snowdonia National Park. Taking you through Ogwen and Pen y Pass under the watchful gaze of such iconic mountains as Tryfan, Moel Siabod, the Snowdonia horseshoe amongst others. The triathlon is rounded off with a beautiful 11 km run through the abandoned quarries and trails that surround the twin lakes of Padarn and Peris.
Accompanying the full distance Slateman are two further distances for varying abilities. The Sprint distance takes place on the Saturday and is perfect for beginners and experienced alike and is tailored towards people new to the sport who want the Slateman experience.
Last, but by no means least, is the famous Slateman Savage. Competitors will take on both the Sprint and Full distances of the Slateman, which combine to create one of the great triathlon feats available in the UK.
The Slateman Triathlon 2017 is part of the Always Aim High Events Adventure Triathlon Series 2017 – a triathlon series which also includes the Snowdonia Triathlon Festival and Sandman Triathlon.
